The Department of Geology runs within the Faculty of Science at the University of Lubumbashi (UNILU).

The Geology Department offers two courses of study :

Undergraduate classes, lasting three years, to lead to a graduate's degree in science, option : Geology.

Graduate classes lasting two years to lead to the award of the degree of Bachelor of Science, option : Geology.

Graduate classes are organized into two sections :

• Exploration and Mining Geology.
• Geotechnics and Hydrogeology.

The teachings of these two cycles are complemented by practical work in the laboratory and on the field.

The second cycle prepares students for graduate study leading to the Diploma of Advanced Studies (DEA) and the Doctorate in Sciences.
